Assistive Technology for Communication

Assistive Technology for Communication

Children may be born with a speech disability. Adults may develop an inability to speak as a result of a stroke or dementia. Communication is a complex process that involves both the speaker (expressive language) and the listener (receptive language). For children and adults who struggle with communication the key is to find a system that offers the opportunity to exchange information and ideas about wants/needs, experiences, thoughts and feelings.
