Math Education for the Blind and Visually Impaired
EASI presents Dave Schleppenbach and Wunji Lau from gh, LLC.
Almost all STEM fields require high competence in mathematics, a subject that is notoriously difficult to effectively present to blind and visually impaired students. In this presentation, we will describe traditional problems and solutions for teaching math to blind students, as well as outline emerging issues related to the rapid growth of online learning and computerized math coursework.
We will also cover results of testing and studies using new software tools developed at gh.
