iPad Apps for Children with Visual Impairments: Explore, Learn and Communicate

Learn about iPad apps for students in early childhood such as EDA Play, Peek-a-Boo Barn, Pictello and Talkboard with additional insight on switch access and adaptations for children with visual impairments using the iPad.  

Julie Johnson is an itinerant teacher of the visually impaired with a certification in Assistive Technology employed at the Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments in St. Louis, MO.  Julie has developed numerous resources to help others, including a Scoop It board of ideas, activities, and medical information for babies and children who are blind with additional multiple disabilities. Andrea Schario is a Speech Language Pathologist in independent practice working primarily with 0-3 year olds with a field expertise in  Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC). Both Andrea and Julie are co- authors of the blog, "Adapted Innovation: Technology. Access. Education."
