Early Childhood Indicators of Latent Print Disability

Tuesday, December 10, 2013
1:30 PM Pacific, 4:30 Eastern

Early Intervention for latent print disabilities has a significant impact on the academic/intellectual development of a child. If left unidentified, the child will struggle to, and in fact, may never catch up with same age/grade peers.  Assistive technology can be essential in enabling children with disabilities to participate in age appropriate activities. This session will focus on the possible signs of a reading disability in pre-school children. Parents and educators leaving this session will know areas of concern for latent print disabilities and will explore several low cost applications (apps) on the iPad and other lower tech interventions that may improve learner outcomes and create a path to future academic success. Hosted by PATINS.
