Change Your View of AT to Support Employees
Assistive technology can help individuals with disabilities be more independent and productive in a wide variety of vocational settings. This webinar from AbleNet University will clarify how to identify what tools may be needed and then a fun look at various assistive technology tools to help with task analysis, prompting/directing, computer access, and modifying the environment. Solutions will include low cost devices that can be purchased from local stores, easy modifications, and iPad apps.
Presenter Laura Parks, M.Ed., is an Assistive Technology Specialist with T.A.S.C., a nonprofit program of UCP Huntsville. Prior to joining TASC 8 years ago, she briefly taught career & life skills for high school students outside of Atlanta and worked in various group homes in Huntsville. Laura is queen of dollar tree and loves to find simple assistive technology solutions to help individuals increase their independence to communicate, access the computer, and be more independent.
