Archived Webinar on Universal Design in Your Preschool Classroom (Play and Learn)

Thursday, Aug 15, 2013
9 AM Pacific, Noon Eastern

We know that movement and engaging play is critical for the development of the young child and we will talk about a variety of fun ways to do that with ALL the children in your preschool classroom. For Back to School we will show you how to use our Box Art to create a school bus and then talk about ways of involving children of many different developmental abilities in this one activity. We will give you an overview of our curriculum which can be paired with any curriculum you are already using in your programs. And together, we will get excited about all the possibilities for the new school year. Come and join us for some playing and learning together!

AbleNet hosts this webinar, presented by Mary J. Sullivan Coleman OTR, MA and Laura J. Krueger PT, MA. Having nearly 50 combined years of pediatric experience, Laura as a physical therapist and Mary as an occupational therapist with autism certification, they have worked with children from birth through high school in school, clinic, and public health settings. They have long shared their passion for finding creative ways to facilitate friendships between children of all abilities. They have had the privilege of watching the same children they knew as preschoolers, graduate from high school and over time they have had countless opportunities to listen to families and discover what in the end really matters for all children: to be an integral part of their communities. Since Play and Learn was originally published in 1999, they have presented at national conferences, written for several publications and trained many early childhood teams across the country.
